In preparation for upcoming security enhancements to the Tech Data Web site, we recommend that customers using Windows 95 and Internet Explorer 4.01 download Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2 or upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.0 in the near future in order to experience optimal browser performance.

What are the security enhancements?
Tech Data is upgrading from 40-bit data encryption to 128-bit encryption to ensure maximum safety and security for all your e-commerce transactions on our Web site.

Is this an issue only for the Tech Data Web site?
No. If you are using Windows 95 and Internet Explorer 4.01, you may encounter the same technical difficulties any time you attempt to use a site with 128-bit encryption.

What is the Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2?
Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2 is a Microsoft update to Internet Explorer 4.0 and 4.01 that addresses technical issues found in the functional capability of the browser. It is free and requires a simple download.

Netscape Users

In preparation for the year 2000, Netscape recommends upgrading to Communicator. Netscape's 56-bit cryptography makes your shopping experience safer, and Communicator 4.61 includes new certificates from Verisign to make shopping even more secure.
